Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The early Medieval Arnheiter Chapel is provided in the midst of a farmstead in the Odenwald. Due to numerous conversions over the years the chapel is in a very poor condition. For careful conservation the constructional characteristics of the ancient masonry of the chapel were ana-lyzed and described. Focus of this research was the masonry joints which consist of regional clay. Due to weathering this masonry had several voids which had to be filled by suitable method and suitable material. On this a grout out of clay is developed, assayed and employed to a masonry-dummy.
