Overview:

Abstract: Stage setting models show in a reduced scale the stage concept of a production and are of great importance for theatre studies. In the first part of the work an art historical subsumption of the conceptional stage setting models for "Parsifal" is given. All models, which are present at the department of theater studies of the University of Cologne at Schloss Wahn, are presented and examined with respect to their material ...For four models, which were not in a state proper for presentation, the material composition and their specific damages are discussed. After the damage analysis a concept for restoration and conservation is presented, aiming at the recovering of the models in a state ready for presentation. The concept was realized at four of these models. The last part of this work concerns the storage and presentation of the stage setting models. A mobile framework for presentation is introduced, which allows to implement the medial concept of presentation.
