Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: Subject of this diploma thesis is the conservation of historical earthen architectures. Concerning to
the topic a procedure was provided, which contained the investigations of the original soil substance (material composition as well as condition), the testing and the production of suitable grouts made of
soil. Materials for the modification of the grouts were cell glue, Tylose MH 300, Klucel E, rabbit skin glue, glass balls and quartz powder, which were tested individually or in combination. Finally prescriptions could be developed, which serve the requirements of grouts. This prescription can also be transferred
on different soils.
As material reference and for practical application of the favoured grout served the Büdnerhaus in Steinstücken, Berlin.
