Janna Bück: Investigation of the different condition of two altars in the chapter hall of the cloister of Wienhausen under special consideration of the room climate Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: In the chapter hall of the cloister of Wienhausen two winged altars, produced around 1500, are kept. Due to its location in room the Epiphany-altar and Crucifixion-altar show a very different state of preservation.
Both altars are presented in this work and examined for parallels in work technique and object history.
By measuring the humidity and temperature in the room, and the measurement of the wall moisture on the walls the altars are set up, is tried to grasp the decisive damage factors.
On basis of the results recommendations are given for the further handling.
