Abstract: Some years ago a small continuance of Judaica was discovered in a corner in the archive of the municipality of St. Martin in Tauberbischofsheim. Now the preservation of the books which come from the time between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century is an important task. Beside material, historical and aesthetic points of view the special cultural context should also be regarded within the development of restoration draughts. Because to the item of conservation and restoration of Jewish written property can be found a little in the literature, case studies are indicated. In this way other findings of Hebrew books and documents are shown, so-called Genisot, whose preservation in spite of different approaches also reveals common trends.
