Language: Original   -   Translation
Abstract: The present study deals with the development of a concept of conservation and restoration for the paintings of the chapter house of the Abbey Brauweiler. Regarding the painting technique, the condition of presentation and the causes of damage, the concept will be found and realized on a trial basis in situ. The main focus of the restoration lays, among other things, on discussing ethics and aesthetics of the restoration history, finding a restoration concept and the practical realization. The concept includes the reduction of Paraloid B 72 and Mowilith DM 771 and the development of a lime based restoration mortar. Aged slake lime and burnt lime were compared. At last a retouching system was developed.
