Overview:

Abstract: An appraisal was taken in order to develop a basis for the urgent restoration treatment on the timber cladding of the Konrad-Wachsmann-House. The relevant information was gathered by means of archive research, on-site survey and feature analysis. Based on the results of the performed measurements of drill resistance, climate and timber moisture it was possible to identify the damage and its origin and document the findings by mapping and giving them different priorities. In order to ensure the appropriate implementation of the required preservation treatment of the timber cladding the conservational aspects and aims for the treatment of the historical building were discussed and recommendations for adequate measures developed.
