Overview:

Abstract: The Bomann-Museum in Celle (Germany) owns a model carriage of the coupé type (scale 1:2). It is functionally constructed (for the most parts) and high-quality manufactured. The first part of the thesis contains the results of the investigations about the unknown past and about the original use of the carriage: Most likely it was built as a construction model for advertising purposes by the vehicle factory "Steinfeldt" in Celle between 1890 and 1909. The second part of the thesis shows materials as well as manufacture technologies and documents the currently bad condition. The third part presents two different kinds of restoration treatments to obtain suitability for exhibition in the museum.
