Overview:

Abstract: Concerning integrated pest management, monitoring increasingly gains in importance in preventive conservation. The monitoring of wooden insect pests offers interesting possibilities to narrow potentially existing infestations of insect pests down and detect the intensity, before any pest control is being planned with regard to cost reduction. Within this diploma thesis, the first part states a theoretical examination of the monitoring of wooden insect pests from a conservation-restoration point of view. The second part deals with the practical aspect by describing the preparation of a monitoring of 216 wooden objects at the Abteikirche Marienmuenster/
Westphalia using a database and different types of traps while continually controlling of the environment
