| Abstract: | This thesis focuses on the technological examination, conservation, and restoration of two paintings by Osmar Osten from the Saxon Art Fund collection. Material analyses and laboratory tests inform a restoration concept addressing tear mending, replacement of missing plastic eyes, and a suitable backing protection. An artist interview explores Osten’s materials, working process, and views on conservation. Additional works from the collection are examined. The aim is the theoretical and practical restoration, documentation, and preservation of both paintings |
