| Abstract: | This thesis examines the central component of a late Gothic, polygonal pillar covering, created in 1515 for the Freiberg Cathedral of St. Mary. The object was examined of its historical context, artistic technique, subsequent changes and current state of preservation. The practical portion focuses on the removal of a wax preservation layer and the exposure of the azurite paint layer. A concept for the inpainting was developed and possibilities for the future presentation |
