| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis focuses on the examination of a tumba lid in the form of a realistically sculpted skeleton from the Salzburg Museum. It was made from Untersberg marble in 1624/25 by the sculptor Hans Conrad Asper. After several international exhibitions, softened fillings were discovered on the object in 2023, which prompted the work to carry out an in-depth examination. In addition to a detailed description of the history of the object and its restoration, as well as a condition assessment of the tumba lid, various scientific investigations and analyses are carried out to determine the condition of this object. Conservation and restoration measures are presented and discussed on the basis of the results. |
