Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The subject of the diploma thesis is the technological examination,
conservation and restoration of two wooden, polychrome reliefs
depicting the Annunciation to Mary and the Adoration of the
Shepherds.
The original origin is unknown. However, the striking polychromy is
typical of works of art from the Spanish-speaking world. On the
basis of the investigations, a concept for conservation and
restoration was developed.
The focus of the work was on the conservation of the supports and
the frame as well as on the removal of subsequently applied
coatings.
