| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis provides the reader with a collection and corresponding analysis of 19th and 20th century instructions for grained wood manufacturing. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. Initially, a brief insight into the historical background of grained wood is provided, including explanations of relevant terminology and related grained wood manufacturing techniques. The introduction is then followed by a discussion of basic problems when working with German graining instructions. Finally, the source material is categorized based on a developed framework. In addition, the resulting collection is presented to the reader and eventually assessed. |
