| Abstract: | : In the present work a concept for the restoration and conservation of a galvanically copper-plated cast-zinc statue is developed. Weather, statical stress, inappropriate combination of materials and careless handling have been leaving their marks for one and a half centuries. Corrosion, deformations, open soldered seams and missing fragments are affecting its appearance and endangering its existence. The developed concept shall disclose a way to deal with damages and to prevent them in future. A detailed written and photographic documentation and a historical classification of statue, artist and workshop complete the work. |
