Overview:
Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the artistic estate of Carl Oesterley currently in care of the Institute for Art History at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany. Based on ongoing research at the Institute of Art History, the project "Art as academic practice. Carl Oesterley (1805-1891) and the formation of art studies in the 19th century" was launched. To further the reappraisal of the estate, it is here examined from conservator´s perspective. A condition analysis is carried out, followed by draft of a storage concept for Carl Oesterleys oil sketches and studies.
